This new 3 bedroom condo required a clever approach and design concept to ensure a maximization of space. The designers used additional lighting to create a clean and welcoming look, together with smart use of finishes to create a luxurious contemporary interior.
By lifting the cabinetry up off the floor and using concealed lighting and mirrors throughout, Home Guide was able to create an illusion of extra space, while increasing functionality by installing built-in cabinetry in every room. This eradicated the need for excess furniture, which allowed for greater flexibility in the use of a more open floor space. This home is a sophisticated example of contemporary interior design, with high-tech custom cabinetry creating a seamless, functional storage solution without bulk.
The sleek bar area just off the entrance is a compact yet classy spot to mix a drink with friends. The cabinetry combines the timber floating shoe cabinet at the front door with a glass and wine cabinet for the bar, doubling up on functionality without using more space. All custom cabinetry are affixed with ‘tip-on’ closing systems, allowing for seamless front panels without handles. The use of timber adds warmth, while mirrors and concealed lighting creates a luxurious glow to the living space.
A sense of drama is created in the living room, where the mirror inserts in the feature wall and a high gloss black TV wall unit create a sense of focus against the calm palette of creams and greys. The floor to ceiling windows create a changing backdrop for the dining area, which is styled in warmer brown tones with timber floors to create a cozy nest.
A palette of storm grey against white finishes creates a contemporary feel in the bedroom and the use of timber flooring adds warmth to the room. The bed is raised with storage incorporated beneath and the bedside table is made retractable for space efficiency.
